The Daily Show host jumped into the issue of religion and the presidential race the other night, and Gov. Brian Schweitzer's comments about Mitt Romney's family coming from a polygamist commune in Mexico played a central role.
Stewart takes issue with the whole idea of religion entering into the campaign. He's particularly peeved with Schweitzer's hedged apology on "Anderson Cooper 360," when the governor said Romney and his family don't support polygamy ... "that I know of."
"Why are politicians so adept at the dickish apology?" asks Stewart.
The whole segment appears here, with the Schweitzer bit starting at the 2:05 mark.
