Denver-based American Power Corp. has commissioned a mine feasibility study on a 29,000-acre coal project in Montana's Judith Basin County.

PGE move blocks KinderMorgan's plan for coal-export port in Oregon
The parcel of land at the Port of St. Helens on which KinderMorgan had proposed to build a coal-export port on the Oregon coast is under a 99-year lease to Portland General Electric, giving the utility final say on how the land is used, and in April, PGE said it would not allow a sublease of the land to KinderMorgan.
