Ready for Madness

Posted by Skylar Browning on Wed, Mar 10, 2010 at 5:00 PM

Missoula fancies itself a football town, but tonight a pretty talented Griz basketball team has the chance, on national television, to earn a spot in the year's most prominent — and most entertaining — college sporting event. We're talking, of course, about the 65-team March Madness tournament, and tonight's Big Sky Conference championship match-up between UM and top-seeded Weber State (ESPN2, 7:05 p.m. tip-off).

We actually love this year's team, mostly because Coach Tinkle has found a nice balance that actually plays like a team. We'd love to explain why (no, really, and we'd start with a detailed breakdown of Will Cherry's pros and cons as a freshman point guard), but hoops lends itself better to visual evidence. So, not convinced this year's 21-win (and counting) team isn't worth your Wednesday night? Watch highlights of last night's semi-final game (which was apparently played in front of eight people and some cheerleaders), and tune in tonight.
