Look who's working

Driving to work this Labor Day morning, it looked like Denny's and Walgreens were the only businesses open. And, alas, the Indy. Since we're busy writing instead of grilling/drinking/hiking/lounging, now's as good a time as any to run through some recent editorial staff changes.

We recently wished beloved staff reporter Jesse Froehling the best of luck on his quest to become Perry Mason. We're sad to see him leave, but excited to welcome Jessica Mayrer to the newsroom. Jessica most recently worked with the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and also wrote for NewWest.net and us. She jumped right in last week and joins Matthew Frank and Alex Sakariassen as a full-time staff reporter.

It seems like Ira Sather-Olson has always worked for this paper in some way or another — he interned with us years ago and has contributed regularly to the arts section since 2005. Ira officially joined the staff as Calendar Playa, aka our new Calendar Editor, over the summer, and captained our transition to a new and improved online entertainment listings database.

Lastly, with Chad Harder still on the mend, we're working with photographers like Anne Medley and Cathrine L. Walters.

That's it on new faces. It's the least we could do considering most of them are spending their Labor Day hunkered behind a computer screen trying to hit deadline.
